USING PHOTOSHOP TO EDIT PHOTOS

Photoshop is quite a complicated Tool, and it is often the Tool of choice for many Professionals, but this should certainly not stop using it for your own Digital snaps. It’s actually pretty easy to pick up the basics of Editing Photos with Photoshop, it is just the more advanced things, which will take a lot of practice!

Of course Photoshop is a very expensive piece of Software, if you don’t intend to use it to its full ability, and then perhaps you should consider a different Software Package. Photoshop Elements may suit you, and it’s basically a cut down version of Photoshop meant for Home use.

Photoshop can be a very confusing place for beginners, and the user Interface (UI) is not very friendly, and can actually be quite confusing.

If you look at the tutorials people provide, they are mostly very complicated ones, telling you how to do hundreds of different things, that you didn’t even think were possible, and there are very few basic tutorials to get you started.

The best way to learn Photoshop is to play, and just have a play around with your photos and see what you can do.

Photoshop has four main things to use, the Menu bar as in any other program, the Toolbar, and on the left hand side the Toolbox. The Palettes are also listed on the right hand side of the page. The Toolbox and Palettes change depending upon selection.

A handy zoomed out Picture preview shows how the Picture looks as a whole, and this can be quite helpful, if you’ve zoomed right in to Remove someone’s spot!

Whatever you want to do in Photoshop, the place you will start is probably in the Menus to load your Photo, and then use the Toolbox to Edit your Photo. The Toolbox contains many Tools, and most of them, you will probably never have need to use.

So what is possible to do to your Photo using Photoshop ?

  • Cropping.
  • Background Removal.
  • Article Removal.
  • Touch up.
  • Remove Scratch.
  • Red eye Removal.
  • Change Colours.

Cropping is one of the simplest operations, when you’re Editing Photos, and also one of the most commonly used. Cropping is Removing a complete area of the Photo, rather you select an area that you want to keep.

Select the Crop Tool, it looks like a strange looking Picture Frame made out of two set Squares! Use this to drag a rectangle around what you want to keep, move this rectangle and use the handles to resize it.

Once you are happy with your selection double click inside the Crop area, and your Computer will then display the new image, without the area that was unselected.

You can use Photoshop to touch up your image if somebody is suffering from an unsightly spot, then you can zoom in and Remove it!

There are several ways to do this, you can use the Clone Tool, so that the skin is matched as closely as possible, or you can use the Colour Droplet Tool to select the colour.

The easiest way is to select the Clone tool, and this copies one area of the Picture to another. Select the Clone Tool and then select an area to copy. Now use the Tool like a Paint Brush to go over that nasty zit.

If you practice enough at Photoshop then you may become as good as a Pro! Many people are making good money from using Photoshop, and if you’ve got the skills then why not profit from it?
