Importance of Data Backup

Creating Backups of your System Software and Files is a smart move when you rely heavily on your Computer System. Several things can happen to make you lose all your Stored System Files and Documents.

A very malignant Virus Attack can leave your Computer totally devastated. A natural catastrophe can wipe out your whole Computer. And old Computer can suddenly stop functioning, and all the Data you stored in it is practically gone.

Regardless of what happens, the importance of having Backed-Up your Files is a relevant issue. Without those Back-Ups, you will have to reconstruct everything you lost from the Ground-up. As you are doing this, you will realize that the reconstruction should have not been necessary if only you have Backed-Up your Files.

If ever a power outage occurs, they will have Back-Up power units on-hand to keep their System Online, so that you do not lose access to your stored Files. Also, they Back-Up their Systems as well just in case something happens to the Main Computer.

Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 also provide an automatic Back-Up System. It works by Backing-Up your System Files at a certain point in time which you specify. These points in time are called System Restore Points. We have used this once already as our Windows Media Player and other Video Player utilities did not show pictures of our Videos. All we did was open the System Restore utility and chose a Restore point with which to correct the error in our System.

The importance of Back-Up Systems will become even more relevant in the years to come. As we grow more and more dependent on Computers for our work and leisure, the more protection and Security will be needed to ensure Data and System integrity. ID Backup Manager is just one among many Back-Up utilities that gives us a step in the right direction.
